The University of Cincinnati, Hoxworth Blood Center (HBC) is recruiting several Phlebotomists/Donor Care Technicians (Advanced or Entry Level Positions Available), in the Donor Services Division, to register and screen prospective blood donors and process blood donors. This position requires friendly, patient, reliable individuals that will be responsible for taking vital signs, performing venipuncture, and providing post-donation care for our community of volunteer blood donors.

Experience in customer service and phlebotomy is preferred; excellent communication skills, a focus on quality, and the ability to work a flexible schedule are essential. This position offers opportunities for career advancement, mentorship, and continued education.

Starting Pay Rate:

Entry Level/Donor Care Technician 1 - $19.78 per hour

Advanced Level/Donor Care Technician 2 - $21.73 per hour

Shift: Varies by designated work location. Shift differential pay is available!

Hours: 32-40 hours per week (80-100 FTE%) based on location need

The incumbent would be assigned at a designated Hoxworth Blood Center Neighborhood Donor Center or on a Mobile Operation Unit. Our locations include:

• Anderson, OH
• Blue Ash, OH
• Central (Clifton, OH)
• North (West Chester, OH)
• Tri-County (Springdale, OH)
• West (Bridgetown North, OH)
• Ft. Mitchell, Ky
• Mobile Unit – Originate at Clifton Location

• Guide donors through the process and provide education opportunities throughout the experience.
• Obtain and update registration information prior to donation according to established departmental procedures.
• Determine suitability of prospective donors based upon evaluation of health history and physical findings.
• Perform documentation to meet regulatory and HBC procedures and guidelines.
