ServiceNow Developer

Vaco is seeking a Service Now CMDB Developerto join our IT Service Management team. The position is on-site 5 days per week in Cincinnati.

In this role, you'll help design, implement, and maintain the Service Now CMDB to support IT and business goals. You will work closely with teams across IT—including Application, Network, Server, and Architecture groups—to ensure configuration items (CIs) and services are accurately captured, maintained, and used effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

• Serve as a subject matter expert for CMDB governance, configuration items, and Service Now discovery.

• Manage CMDB-related tasks and improvements within the ITSM backlog.

• Develop and maintain dashboards, reports, and documentation.

• Partner with ITSM, ITAM, and platform teams to align with broader Service Now strategy.

• Monitor and maintain CMDB data integrity through audits, certifications, and policy enforcement.

• Support projects, manage configurations, and provide stakeholder training.

• Continuously improve auto-discovery processes and ensure alignment with ITIL best practices.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent experience.

• Strong experience with Service Now ITSM and CMDB processes.

• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum and the software development life cycle (SDLC).

• Experience with Service Now configuration and discovery tools (e.g., SCCM, Big Fix, Service Now Discovery).

• Solid understanding of the Common Service Data Model (CSDM).

• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.

Preferred Certifications:

• ITIL 4 Certification

• Service Now System Administrator

• Service Now Micro Certifications (CMDB Health, Configure CMDB)

Note: This is a contract-to-hire opportunity with a conversion salary of $110,000 to $120,000, depending on experience.
