Data Quality Engineering Leader

We are seeking a Data Quality Engineering Leader who can guide a modern, scalable, and business-aligned data testing practice. This leader will oversee a team of Data QA Engineers and provide strategic direction as the organization modernizes domain services, transforms data flows, and implements new data platforms. The ideal candidate has deep experience in data testing, strong understanding of business domain data, and the ability to partner with Data Engineering, Architecture, and Business units to ensure accuracy, reliability, and trust across enterprise data products.

• Leadership and Team Management
  • Lead, mentor, and coach Data QA Engineers, including senior ETL, BI, and data warehouse testers.
  • Manage onshore and offshore testing teams.
  • Upskill teams on business domain, including insurance use cases and financial data requirements.
  • Oversee workload planning, resource allocation, and delivery execution across multiple data initiatives.
  • Build a culture of ownership, quality, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
• Data Quality, Testing Strategy, and Execution
  • Own the Data Quality and Data Testing roadmap and ensure alignment with the progressive data engineering group.
  • Oversee functional, integration, regression, ETL, services-based, and end-to-end test planning and execution.
  • Drive consistency in data validation, SQL-based verification, data profiling, and data comparison.
  • Reverse engineer processes to validate data transformations during modernization.
  • Ensure the QA organization can support fast-moving, iterative delivery teams.
• Technical Oversight
  • Provide hands-on direction in complex SQL analysis and data validation.
  • Oversee testing for data lakes, data warehouses, and domain services.
  • Guide the use of enterprise data tools including Oracle, SQL Server, DB2, Teradata, Hadoop, Azure, IICS, and Snowflake.
  • Lead adoption of automation frameworks and modern data quality tooling, including Python-based validation and Informatica DVO.
  • Oversee Test Data Management including masking, subsetting, synthetic data generation, and Broadcom CA TDM.
• Process and Quality Improvements
  • Mature the QA operating model to support Agile aligned data teams while navigating hybrid Waterfall and Agile environments.
  • Improve test documentation, standards, and processes for consistent quality outcomes.
  • Establish clear data quality metrics, dashboards, and reporting mechanisms for leadership.
  • Collaborate with Data Engineering, Architecture, and Business units to embed quality early in design and planning.

• 10+ years of experience in Data, ETL, BI, or data warehouse testing, with at least 3 years leading teams.
• Experience in insurance, financial services, or other complex regulated industries preferred.
• Strong SQL validation skills and deep understanding of relational and dimensional modeling.
• Experience with DB2, Teradata, Oracle, SQL Server, Hadoop or cloud ecosystems.
• Hands‑on experience with Test Data Management technologies (masking, subsetting, data profiling, synthetic data).
• Experience leading blended teams, including offshore consulting partners.
• Proven ability to guide QA practices during modernization or transformation initiatives.
• Strong communication skills and ability to translate between business and technical stakeholders.

Senior‑level, Full‑time, Information Technology and Quality Assurance, located in the Midwest.
