Lead Data Engineer
U.S. Bank is selecting a Lead Data Engineer to design and execute large‑scale data projects that ingest, clean, and analyze financial data. The role maintains data integrity, ensures regulatory compliance, and improves operational efficiency.
Responsibilities- Develop and maintain data pipelines to ingest, process, and store financial data from internal and external sources.
- Integrate structured and unstructured data from accounting software, trading platforms, and market feeds.
- Build and optimize relational and non‑relational databases (SQL, No
SQL) to support reporting and analytics. - Implement data quality checks and enforce data governance policies to comply with GDPR, SOX, and other regulations.
- Collaborate with data scientists, business analysts, and IT teams to deliver usable data for analysis and decision‑making.
- Automate repetitive data processing tasks and continuously monitor and improve pipeline performance.
- Provide financial data for dashboards, reports, and visualizations, and work with finance teams to structure data for analysis.
- Securely store financial data, monitor access controls, and address security and privacy standards.
- Troubleshoot data pipelines, databases, and data integrity issues and support financial reporting systems.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
- 7+ years of experience administering data, managing databases, and designing data pipelines.
- Proficiency in Python, SQL, or Scala and experience with cloud data warehouse solutions such as Snowflake, Redshift, or RDS.
- Strong knowledge of data pipeline tools (Kafka, Airflow, ETL frameworks) and cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
- Experience with relational databases and best practices for data architecture and design.
- Application development tools and information management.
- Data warehousing, data movement tools, and on‑prem and cloud solutions.
- Application delivery process, IT environment, and hybrid/flexible work schedule.
