Senior Engineer

Akkodis is seeking a Senior Engineer for a Contract with a client in Cincinnati, OH
. Candidates must have deep expertise in SQL database administration and modern CI/CD and infrastructure-as-code methodologies to be considered.

Rate Range: $56/hour to $60/hour;
The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

• Design, build, and maintain Azure SQL Managed Instance and Azure SQL Database environments, ensuring security and scalability.
• Implement Dev Ops practices for database changes, including CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure-as-code, and automation for deployment and monitoring.
• Optimize database performance and reliability through proactive tuning, capacity planning, and SRE-style operational support.
• Develop and maintain scripts and automation tools for provisioning, patching, and backup processes.
• Monitor and troubleshoot mission-critical workloads, ensuring high availability and compliance with organizational standards.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate database solutions with application architectures and cloud services.

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field (Master’s preferred).
• Minimum 5+ years as a SQL Database Administrator, with at least 2+ years working on Azure SQL environments.
• Proven expertise in Azure SQL Managed Instance and Azure SQL Database administration.
• Hands-on experience with Dev Ops practices, including CI/CD for database changes, Infrastructure-as-Code, and automation.
