Classification: Full-Time/Exempt/Salaried

Location: Onsite at Range USA Store Support Center

Range USA is seeking a versatile Data Solutions Engineer to join our IT team during an exciting period of growth and transformation. This role combines data engineering, business intelligence development, and database administration to support our 50-location retail operation and critical SNIPER platform transition. The ideal candidate will manage our data infrastructure, develop reporting solutions, and ensure data quality across all systems while supporting our data-driven initiatives.

• Collaborate with company and IT leadership to gather report requirements
• Design, develop, and deliver complex reports and dashboards using Power BI as our primary BI platform
• Maintain and modify existing Power BI reports and datasets as business requirements evolve
• Optimize Power BI data models, DAX calculations, and refresh schedules for performance and accuracy
• Ensure Power BI workspace governance, security, and best practices are followed
• Provide comprehensive support documentation for each reporting asset delivered
• Support user adoption through training and communication initiatives

• Manage and maintain MSSQL databases, ensuring high availability and optimal performance
• Design, implement, and optimize database schemas, indexing strategies, and stored procedures
• Monitor and tune SQL queries to improve efficiency and reduce latency
  
  Implement database security policies, access controls, and backup strategies
• Perform database health checks, monitoring, and proactive maintenance to prevent failures

• Support and optimize ETL (Extract, Transform, and Load) processes to ensure seamless data integration across systems
• Develop and maintain Azure Data Factory (ADF) pipelines for data movement and transformation
• Manage data ingestion processes, including potential Snowflake implementations
• Build and maintain data pipelines to support organizational data flow
• Gather, clean, and interpret data to ensure quality and meaningful analyses

• Experience with Azure Data Factory (ADF) or similar cloud-based ETL tools
• Knowledge of Snowflake or other cloud data warehouse platforms
• Python or Power Shell scripting abilities
• Power BI certification or advanced Power BI features (Row Level Security, Incremental Refresh, Composite Models)
• Retail or multi-location business experience
• Experience with POS or ecommerce data systems
• Familiarity with PCI DSS compliance requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience)
• 2-5+ years of hands‑on experience in data management roles
• Strong proficiency in SQL and database management (MSSQL required)
• Experience with ETL processes and data pipeline development
• Demonstrated expertise in Power BI development, including report creation, data modeling, and DAX
• Experience with Power BI service administration and deployment pipelines
• Experience with data quality management and troubleshooting
• Strong documentation and communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment
