Sr. Infrastructure Automation Engineer

Job Description

Client team is looking for an experienced Automation Consultant with strong expertise in infrastructure automation, VMware, and Ansible to join our team. The ideal candidate will design, develop, and implement automation solutions to streamline infrastructure operations across virtualized, on‑premise, and cloud environments. This role requires hands‑on experience in Ansible‑based automation, VMware orchestration, backup and storage automation, along with a deep understanding of Dev Ops practices and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) methodologies.

• Proficient in scripting languages like Python, JavaScript (NodeJS), Power Shell and other programming languages
• Solid understanding of configuration management tools like Ansible, Chef
• Use Ansible for task automation and IT orchestration, running tasks in sequence and creating a chain of events across multiple servers or devices
• Plan, design, create, deliver, implement, maintain, and support user workflows implemented in Ansible and other configuration management tools
• Develop and integrate APIs
• Work with SQL and No‑SQL databases such as MySQL, Mongo, PostgreSQL
• Write and maintain YAML playbooks
• Utilize cloud automation tools such as Terraform and container platforms (Docker) and orchestration platforms (Kubernetes)
• Integrate automation workflows with backup, monitoring, and storage systems to ensure operational consistency and reliability

• Background in architecting and designing complex customer solutions using Ansible
• Intermediate‑level scripting in Bash or Python
• Experience provisioning, orchestrating, packaging, configuring, and deploying with Ansible by Red Hat
• Write Ansible playbooks
• Understanding of Linux internals
• Apply Dev Ops methodologies and tools within target organizations
• Good SDLC skills
• Experience with Git, Git Hub, and Jenkins
• Experience working with distributed teams and open‑source projects
• Strategic and tactical thinking, mental agility, original thought
• Self‑learning and quick adaptation to new technologies
• Passion for open source, tooling, and automation
• Implement CI/CD pipelines
• Deep technical experience with virtualization and cloud tech like Red Hat Open Stack Platform, Red Hat Virtualization, VMware vSphere, Microsoft Hyper‑V, AWS, Azure
• Knowledge of container management and orchestration tools
• Experience interacting with open source communities
• Familiarity with infrastructure and OS security fundamentals, cloud and hypervisors
