Job Description Summary

Site IT Manager for GE Aerospace’s Services Technology Acceleration Center (STAC), a repair facility in Springdale, OH focused on innovation, technology acceleration, development, automation, and industrialization. Responsible for managing the plant’s information technology, including all IT infrastructure and software applications necessary for shop operations. As the site IT leader, you will ensure performance and availability of IT infrastructure and applications, partner with the business on digital improvements, and act as a key member of the shop leadership team.

Responsibilities
  • Responsible for DT operations and management of the repair shop.
  • Design and implement a roadmap to drive digital improvements across the IT infrastructure and application landscape.
  • Represent information technology as part of the Shop leadership team.
  • Partner with the business on lean/ process improvement initiatives and enable business transformation leveraging digital tools.
  • Maintain awareness of all business applications in use at the site and overall business flow.
  • Understand the digital product catalog and its integration with site operations.
  • Work on machine instrumentation initiatives to enhance business operations.
  • Proactively monitor network performance (WAN, LAN, WLAN) and escalate issues.
  • Build relationships with central digital technology product teams for faster resolution of networking and application issues.
  • Collaborate with central digital product teams to resolve systemic recurring issues or enhancement needs.
  • Manage and coordinate all Digital Workspace technologies.
  • Support all printers, MFPs, on‑site A/V, and telecommunications equipment.
  • Manage and coordinate deployment and support of shop floor PCs.
  • Provide on‑site support for networking infrastructure.
  • Coordinate IT infrastructure work with applicable teams.
  • Respond immediately to cybersecurity threats.
  • Escalate IT issues affecting site production and provide on‑call support as necessary.
  • Initiate technology obsolescence and improvement projects.
  • Apply Lean and Flight Deck fundamentals.
  • Develop and manage adherence to departmental Change Management and Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
  • Collaborate with functional teams in supporting new product and technology introductions.
  • Support implementation of shop floor productivity and automations.
  • Maintain a strong cybersecurity posture at the site and comply with established standards and practices.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college with a minimum of 4 years of professional experience, OR Associate’s degree with a minimum of 7 years of professional experience, OR High School Diploma with a minimum of 9 years of professional experience.
  • Minimum 3 years of professional experience in IT.
  • Military experience is considered equivalent to professional experience.
Eligibility Requirements
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S.; no sponsorship for employment visas.
Desired Characteristics
  • Experience working IT in a manufacturing environment.
  • Hands‑on experience in 24x7x365 technical operations.
  • Experience in design, performance, availability, and scalability of infrastructure.
  • Ability to manage infrastructure and manufacturing execution systems (MES).
  • Ability to integrate with manufacturing technologies.
  • Understanding of Lean concepts and lean manufacturing principles (e.g., Kaizen, Standard Work, Hoshin Kanri).
  • Ability to drive projects based on business strategies and customer requirements.
  • Skill in breaking down problems, documenting problem statements, and estimating efforts.
  • Excellent problem‑solving, customer mindset, change‑agent, collaboration, and communication skills.
  • Strong consulting, curiosity, creativity, decision‑making, risk management, and influence capabilities.
