A Systems QA Engineer is currently available at Belcan in Evendale, OH 45215
. This is a full‑time, direct‑hire position with full benefits. To be considered, you must be a U.S. citizen and possess or be willing to obtain a federal Secret clearance. You must also hold a current CompTIA Security+ certification, an equivalent, or be willing to obtain one.
Ensure secure, reliable, and compliant delivery of mission‑critical systems through rigorous quality assurance across physical, virtual, and cloud environments supporting DoD programs. Validate that solutions meet requirements and end‑user expectations.
Key Responsibilities- Quality Engineering: lead test strategy, planning, and execution for integration, system, regression, and user acceptance testing (UAT); maintain traceability to requirements.
- Communicate both quantitative and qualitative findings from test results; inform the project team of defects and errors; lead defect triage to closure.
- Participate in testing efforts, including the design and execution of an overall test strategy; define and enforce entry/exit criteria.
- Environments and Tooling
- Provide support for multiple development/non‑production environments spanning physical, virtual, cloud, and air‑gapped environments.
- Work closely with Architects, Systems Engineers, and Systems Administrators to ensure environment readiness, test data availability, configuration control, and testability.
- Operate within an ITIL framework, contributing to standardized processes (e.g., incident, change, and problem management) and documentation quality.
- Stakeholder Collaboration and UAT: work with clients onsite to understand their technological needs and assist with their UAT processes; capture acceptance criteria and sign‑offs.
- Establish strong relationships with key sponsors, stakeholders, and team members by building trust and rapport.
- Strategic alignment with Program/Project Managers to define requirements; drive and govern common standards and guidelines.
- Process, Documentation, and Improvement: develop and document IT processes and procedures; create SOPs; contribute to creation and maintenance of a process and documentation repository.
- Conduct gap analysis, redesign business processes, develop roadmaps and proofs‑of‑concept to improve quality, security, and efficiency.
- Stay updated with emerging trends and technologies in the IT industry and apply them to continuous improvement.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills; self‑starter able to work independently or in a team.
- Hands‑on experience participating in or leading QA activities such as test planning, execution, and defect management in systems/infrastructure or enterprise application contexts.
- US citizenship with eligibility to obtain or current DoD Secret clearance (investigation date within the last five years).
- CompTIA Security+ certification or equivalent.
- On‑site position only (no remote or hybrid).
- Proven expertise across technical domains (e.g., scripting, network administration, software/hardware installation and configuration, and virtualization).

We provide a competitive pay and benefits package. The salary range is $85,000–$95,000, noting that Belcan considers multiple factors when extending an offer, including education, experience, geography, and discipline.
