Clarke Fire Protection Products, Inc. has increasingly improved their business through the development of data-driven insights and optimized business processes. The Business Analyst will bridge the gap between business stakeholders and technical teams, gathering requirements, analyzing data, and translating business needs into actionable solutions as outlined by the Clarke Fire Software Development Manager and executive leadership.

General areas of responsibility will include the following:
Requirements gathering and documentation, business process analysis and optimization, data analysis and reporting using Microsoft Power BI and SQL, stakeholder collaboration, and supporting the implementation of business systems and software solutions.

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across departments to gather, document, and analyze business requirements for reports, dashboards, and software applications
  • Design and develop Power BI dashboards and reports that support strategic decision-making and operational efficiency
  • Conduct data analysis using SQL queries to extract insights, identify trends, and support business intelligence initiatives
  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation including functional specifications, business process flows, user stories, and requirements documents in both technical and user-friendly language
  • Analyze existing business processes and recommend improvements for productivity, cost savings, quality enhancement, and information process flow optimization
  • Develop and maintain dimensional data models, including star schemas and bridge tables, to ensure accurate and consistent reporting
  • Facilitate requirements gathering sessions, user acceptance testing, and stakeholder feedback sessions
  • Communicate findings, recommendations, and system changes clearly to management, technical teams, and end users through written documentation and presentations
  • Support the implementation and deployment of new or modified business systems, including post-implementation support and training
  • Monitor key performance indicators and create variance analysis reports to support forecasting and planning activities
Position Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Data Analytics, Information Systems, or related field preferred;
    Associate degree with demonstrated skills acceptable
  • 1+ years working as a Business Analyst, Power BI developer, or in a data analysis role
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Power BI including: advanced DAX formulas and measures, Power Query/M for data transformation, Data modeling and visualization best practices
  • Proficiency with Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS)
  • Strong SQL query writing skills for data extraction and analysis
  • Experience creating and maintaining requirements documentation and functional specifications
  • Experience with dimensional modeling concepts (star schema, fact and dimension tables)
  • Familiarity with ERP systems (Made2

    Manage, Acumatica, or similar platforms)
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills
  • Strong attention to detail with ability to identify data quality issues and inconsistencies
  • Excellent listening, interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills
  • Ability to translate complex technical concepts into business language and vice versa
  • Highly self-motivated and directed with ability to work independently
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks while under pressure
  • Excellent time management and ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
  • Strong customer service orientation and stakeholder management skills
  • Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
Nice-to-haves
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments
  • Familiarity with statistical analysis techniques (rolling averages, standard deviation, forecasting methods)
  • Understanding of software development lifecycle and version control
