Senior Audit Analytics & Automation Leader

Location: Chicago, IL or Greater Cincinnati Area

Compensation: Competitive executive-level package expected to include low-to-mid $200

Ks base compensation plus annual and long-term incentive opportunity.

We are seeking a senior audit leader to help modernize a large, complex audit function through advanced analytics, automation, and practical AI adoption. This is not a traditional audit maintenance role. It is a high-visibility opportunity to shape how a large enterprise audit team uses data, AI-enabled tools, automation, and continuous monitoring to improve risk coverage and audit effectiveness.

You will help build the roadmap, workflows, tools, and team capabilities needed to move Internal Audit into a more data-driven, AI-enabled model.

• Build and execute the audit analytics and AI roadmap.
• Identify opportunities to automate audit planning, testing, reporting, and issue follow-up.
• Develop dashboards, reusable analytics, automated testing, and continuous-monitoring approaches.
• Partner with audit, finance, data, technology, and enterprise AI stakeholders.
• Strengthen audit team capabilities in working with data, applying advanced analytics, leveraging automation, and adopting AI effectively and responsibly.
• Guide and mentor audit professionals while establishing a trusted internal resource for advanced analytics and artificial intelligence capabilities.

• 12+ years across internal audit, external audit, audit analytics, risk, finance transformation, data analytics, or related disciplines.
• Big Four or national public accounting foundation strongly preferred.
• Strong audit, risk, controls, SOX, compliance, or finance-process credibility
• Meaningful experience using analytics, automation, AI, or emerging technology to improve audit, risk, finance, compliance, or controls processes.
• Experience with tools such as SQL, Python, Power BI, Tableau, Alteryx, Power Automate, Copilot, Snowflake, Databricks, Azure, AWS, or similar platforms.
• Exposure to generative AI, LLMs, intelligent automation, machine learning, or AI-enabled workflow transformation.
• Skilled at translating complex technical information into clear, actionable insights for executive audiences.

• A bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, data science, computer science, information systems, or a related discipline is expected. Professional credentials in accounting, audit, information systems, or data and technology disciplines are highly valued.
