Scope of Job
Manages the flow of goods, resources, and information required by the supply chain to ensure that critical processes run effectively and achieve organisational goals and performance KPIs. Implements a strategy to ensure that critical processes run effectively and achieve organisational goals and performance KPIs. Leads coordination activities with procurement, production, inventory control, distribution, transportation and other functions to optimise the supply chain.
Resolves bottlenecks or problem areas in the supply chain. Monitors suppliers and service providers for quality and performance. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. Extensive knowledge of the function and department processes.
- Develop and implement supply chain strategies aligned with organisational goals.
- Forecast demand and plan inventory levels to meet customer requirements.
- Source and negotiate with suppliers for cost‑effective and quality materials.
- Establish and maintain strong vendor relationships.
- Monitor supplier performance and compliance.
- Oversee inventory control processes to minimise waste and optimise stock levels.
- Manage transportation and distribution to ensure timely delivery.
- Coordinate warehousing operations and ensure efficient storage.
- Identify inefficiencies and implement process improvements.
- Utilise technology and data analytics to enhance supply chain performance.
- Assess potential risks in the supply chain and develop mitigation strategies.
- Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory and safety standards.
- Prepare and manage supply chain budgets.
- Monitor costs and implement cost‑saving initiatives without compromising quality.
- Lead and develop supply chain staff.
- Foster collaboration across departments (e.g. procurement, production, sales).
- Track key performance indicators (KPIs) such as lead time, cost and service levels.
- Prepare reports for senior management and recommend improvements.
- Collaborate with production and supporting departments to ensure the food safety and quality of our products.
- Other duties as assigned.
Bachelor’s degree required.
Experience5+ years of experience in related areas with extensive knowledge of the function and department processes. 1‑3 years of supervisory experience preferred.
