Job Duties
In Facilities, ensure the safety of employees and oversee general contractors, professional design partners, and vendors working within county‑owned facilities to ensure compliance with county and state policies.
Responsibilities- Supervise and manage the budget for plumbing, carpentry, electrical, painting, plastering, and ironworker bargaining unit staff.
- Act as the project manager for construction projects ranging from $10,000 to $500,000.
- Coordinate and administer construction/permit processes, including contract documents.
- Maintain the ARCHIBUS project management module, work order system, and record drawing database for all contract files.
- Coordinate with the Senior Project Manager to discuss project priorities, safety, and issues, providing direction to supervised staff and advising other departments on ongoing trades work orders or project concerns.
- Bachelor’s degree in Management, Business Administration, or related field.
- Minimum two years of experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience indicating knowledge of management practices, facilities management, mechanical engineering practices, construction management, and applying management principles.
- Valid driver’s license issued by the state of residency.
- 10 years of experience in a trade’s position or 5 years as a trades foreman, or 5 years managing trades.
- One year of Prevailing Wage experience.
- Certified Project Manager (CPM).
- Building Operations Certification.
- LEED AP Certification.
- Member of or eligible for Project Management Institute professional associate certification.
- Stand for long periods, lift up to 50 lbs., work in hot or cold environments, awkward positions, and on ladders; outdoor work may be exposed to inclement weather.
- Must wear personal protective equipment: half‑face respirators/dust masks, safety glasses, fall protection harness, arc‑flash clothing level two, fire‑rated long sleeve shirts, earplugs/muffs, hand protection.
- Meet maximum weight requirements for ladders, personal fall protection equipment, and aerial lifts (e.g., 300–375 lbs. for industrial ladders; 310 lbs. for full‑body harnesses; 300–350 lbs. for single‑man lifts).
