The 3rd shift Manufacturing Engineer will assist in optimizing and improving manufacturing processes under the guidance of senior engineers. This role involves supporting production activities, troubleshooting issues, and implementing process improvements to ensure efficient and high‑quality manufacturing.
Essential Functions- Assist in the design, development, and implementation of manufacturing processes and systems.
- Support the production team by troubleshooting equipment and process issues.
- Participate in the development of process documentation, including work instructions and standard operating procedures.
- Conduct analysis of production data to identify areas for improvement and efficiency gains.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to support new product introductions and process enhancements.
- Assist with the setup and calibration of manufacturing equipment.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, including lean manufacturing and Six Sigma projects.
- Develop manufacturing strategies for specific products and processes.
- Actively participate with engineering project teams to coordinate the release of new products.
- Estimate and track manufacturing costs, determine time standards, and make recommendations for tooling and process requirements of new or existing product lines.
- Define, develop and transfer manufacturing and engineering tools, strategies and systems.
- Maintain records and reporting systems for coordination of manufacturing operations.
- Develop, implement and analyze manufacturing engineering plans, projects and communicate them to internal and external customers.
- Demonstrate strong project management experience utilizing Microsoft Project to meet timelines and manage resources.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or related field and a minimum of 0‑3 years of prior related experience or Associate’s Degree and a minimum of 4 years prior related experience.
- Requirements are not to be used exclusive of other leveling factors. Substitution of additional relevant education and experience for stated qualifications may be considered.
- Familiarity with manufacturing processes, equipment, and quality control principles.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Basic understanding of lean manufacturing principles and Six Sigma.
- Knowledge of automation and process improvement tools.
- CNC M and G code programming of 4‑ and 5‑axis machines.
- CAD/CAM CNC programming proficiency.
- Grinding / CNC grinding process set‑up and programming.
- Project Management exposure.
