South Terminal Plant Manager

Overview

Reporting directly to the Site Operations Leader, the Plant Manager is a key leader for the North American operations overseeing a fast-paced, customer-facing manufacturing facility. The role will focus on improving safety and quality, meeting production demands, exceeding customer expectations, driving continuous improvement initiatives and increasing employee engagement.

B.A. or B.S degree in Engineering

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in Plant Management, or Operations Management with full plant and operations responsibility in an automated batch manufacturing facility
• Experience in an FMCG environment is preferred
• Knowledge of Quality Management Systems (ISO)
• Strong track record of using continuous improvement processes and lean methodologies to deliver sustained improvements in safety, quality, output and costs
• Experience in regulated industries and familiarity with contract manufacturing is highly preferred
• Six Sigma and Lean certifications are highly preferred, but not required
• Knowledge of safety programs, OSHA standards and federal safety regulations

• Champion of a continuous improvement culture with curiosity, scientific problem solving, commitment to excellence, customer focus, leadership support, learning and development, high employee morale and retention
• Lead continuous improvement activities to meet customer expectations through production efficiency, quality and cost-effective management of resources
• Oversee daily operations with emphasis on safety, quality, people, service and cost
• Lead by example and set expectations for proactive safety behaviors at all levels
• Manage the facility to achieve budgeted operating profit and working capital targets
• Identify production and process challenges, develop action plans and implement processes to improve business functions
• Provide leadership and support for continuous improvement projects to enable scalability toward production throughput, quality requirements and cost initiatives
• Manage and develop direct reports, including development plans and career paths
• Use KPIs to measure progress and drive the right activity and behavior
• Apply structured problem-solving methods to root cause investigations and corrective actions
• Assist in developing and executing strategic plans that align with company objectives
• Collaborate with internal and external customers to deliver requirements through optimized production capacity, cost effectiveness and on-time delivery
• Other duties as required
