Pay Range

Base pay: $20.00/hr – $20.00/hr pay may vary based on skills and experience.

Principal Accountabilities (Summary)

Reporting directly to the Warehouse Supervisor, the Material Handler is responsible for verifying and maintaining records on incoming and outgoing shipments, preparing items for shipment, assembling, loading, and shipping merchandise or material, and receiving, unpacking, verifying, and recording incoming merchandise.

Performance Measures and Standards
  • Examine shipment contents and compare with records such as manifests, invoices, or orders to verify accuracy.
  • Record shipment data, such as weight, charges, space availability, damages, or discrepancies for reporting, accounting, or recordkeeping purposes.
  • Prepare documents, such as work orders, bills of lading, or shipping orders, to route materials.
  • Pack, seal, or label to prepare materials for shipping.
  • Deliver or route materials to departments using forklifts and/or pallet jacks.
  • Requisition and store shipping materials and supplies to maintain inventory of stock.
  • Load/unload trucks in a safe, efficient manner.
  • Support efforts to implement and maintain the EHS&S management system.
  • Conform with the EHS&S Policy and the Cardinal Rules.
  • Maintain a safe and secure workplace and meet environmental site requirements.
  • Report accidents and incidents to a supervisor or the EHS&S department.
  • Participate in required EHS&S training.
  • Work with outside carriers for loading and unloading of product, finished and raw.
  • Maintain traceability of all products, finished and raw, to help the Operations team maintain efficiency.
  • Perform quality checks to inspect for integrity of materials.
  • Work cross‑functionally with other departments such as Quality, Operations, Planning, etc.
  • Identify item, lot, and quantity and verify they all match BOL/manifest.
  • Inspect and identify any quality defects on incoming or outbound material.
  • Basic computer skills such as email, Microsoft Office, etc.
  • Ability to flow from one task to another freely without contact supervision or direction.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements Education, Credentials, Licenses
  • High school diploma, GED, or earned within a designated period following hire.
Key Experience
  • Basic computer experience in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Minimum of two years working in a high‑volume, fast‑paced environment.
  • Must be able to stand for entirety of the 8–12 hour shift.
  • Experience using an ERP system is preferred.
  • Experience operating a stand‑up forklift is preferred.
  • Experience utilizing an RF Scanner is preferred.
  • Shipping and receiving experience is preferred.

  • Maintain a safe, legal and environmentally protective operation.

  • Follow set guidelines for GMP, quality and food safety requirements.
  • Maintain training on applicable procedures in quality, GMP, and food safety.
  • Report any food safety, security, and/or quality issues to management or the HACCP team to initiate action.

  • Be cost effective in the utilization of our resources, thereby contributing to the profitability of Peter Cremer North America, LP and our customers.
