Responsibilities- Responsible for daily facility sanitation and custodial duties according to the Sanitation Master Schedule.
- Clean all production areas according to SQF regulations, GMP, and sanitation policies.
- Disassemble machines, sanitize, foam rinse, and reassemble production lines for use.
- Clean and sanitize production line operating equipment (ovens, mixers, etc.).
- Clean and sanitize baking equipment including bins, trays, etc.
- Use power equipment such as floor sweepers, vacuums, scrubbers, mops, power washers.
- Operate floor scrubber to clean concrete flooring.
- Sweep and mop work areas.
- Perform housekeeping duties including restrooms, lunchroom, offices, lobby, conference room, etc.
- Discard all corrugated, inedible food and other packing material.
- Operate cleaning systems and equipment as trained and specified.
- Maintain a working knowledge of equipment, proper LOTO procedure for machinery.
- Responsible for general plant cleanliness with the expectation of being inspection‑ready.
- Support SQF by maintaining food safety and food quality through completing job tasks and maintaining the work area in a sanitary manner.
- Perform all other assigned tasks including walls inside and outside the company, silos, ceilings, and any type of stairs.
- Any other duties as assigned by the sanitation supervisor.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common industry, production, and technical documents in English.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to work independently with meticulous attention to detail.
- Proficient understanding of sanitation procedures and equipment.
- Commitment to maintaining high safety standards.
- Strong leadership and communication skills within a team environment.
- Proven experience in a fast‑paced environment with a focus on quality and safety.
- Basic math skills and ability to work weekends and holidays as needed.
- Prior proficiency in equipment uses and operation.
- 1–3 years of sanitation experience in a manufacturing setting (food manufacturing preferred but not required).
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to read, comprehend, and communicate safety labels on chemical containers.
- Ability to adjust or move objects up to 50 lbs in all directions.
- Ability to communicate with others to exchange information.
- Repeating motions that may include wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
- Hear sounds and recognize the difference between them.
- Ability to withstand various climates within the facility (as low as –15°F up to 110°F).
- Ability to work in an environment with flashing lights, horns, and powered moving equipment operating in proximity.
- Prolonged periods of sitting, standing, walking and/or remaining in a stationary position.
- Ability to move self into different positions in various environments including tight and/or confined spaces.
- Must be physically able to ascend and descend ladders, stairs, ramps, poles and scaffolding.
- Excellent hand/eye coordination.
- Ability to bend, stretch, twist, or reach out.
- Adjust body movements or equipment controls to keep pace with speed changes of moving objects.
- See details of objects that are less than a few feet away.
- See differences between colors, shades, and brightness.
- Adaptability to work in diverse environments and surfaces.
- Ensure compliance with GMPs and maintain a clean work environment.
- Wear personal protective equipment as needed.
- Stand and move around the manufacturing floor for up to 8 hours.
