Blast Booth Operator - 2nd Shift

Shift

This is a 2nd shift position* (5pm - 5:30am M-F 4/12 shift or 5pm - 3:30am M-F 5/10 shift).

• Parts are sand blasted according to specifications and standard shop practices.
• Parts are constantly handled and protected properly and safely.
• Equipment, including blast booth and collector, is well maintained and problems are proactively reported.
• Duties are constantly performed in a safe manner to ensure compliance with safety specifications.

• Positions and turns material to completely blast all required surfaces.
• Adjusts mixture of air and abrasive to suit requirements.
• Services sand or grit tanks, replaces worn nozzles.
• Moves material in and out of blast booth using hand truck, tow-motor and/or overhead crane.
• Monitors humidity and temperature and compares to customer specification requirements.

High school diploma or GED required.

• Experience working in a blast booth is preferred.
• Ability to read blueprints preferred.
• Ability to safely operate a forklift.
