Job DetailsAs a Senior Supply Planner, your mission is to provide a constrained production plan and deployment recommendations using appropriate planning tools to support the S&OP process. Your plan will balance competing metrics such as service levels, distressed inventory rates, finished goods inventory levels, and manufacturing and distribution costs.
ResponsibilitiesYou will regularly interact with marketing brand managers, directors, and plant managers. In these interactions, you will represent the Supply Chain for their items, making you a key contact for these positions.
Master Production Schedule- Develop and maintain a 5‑week master production schedule for the production plant.
- Responsible for highly complex and visible categories.
- Work across multiple categories to mentor, coach, and train other planners.
- Support and lead the development of incremental tools and processes that drive organizational growth, including innovation, LEAN initiatives, and other cross‑functional activities.
- Plan and control production.
- Set distribution inventory goals for finished goods.
- Represent Supply Chain in the S&OP process.
- Lead weekly Plant Scheduling Meetings with the Production team.
- Communicate supply chain issues and recommendations for resolution within these meetings.
- Interface with Long‑Term Planners to convert rough‑cut production plans to finite schedules on a weekly basis.
- Review potential shortages with Long‑Term Planners and work with Plant Production to mitigate shortages where possible.
- Notify Procurement and Plant Planning of significant changes that affect high‑risk items.
- Participate in meetings with cross‑functional team members to support business initiatives and adjust plans accordingly.
- Drive resolution of any shelf‑life issues on packaging and raw materials with Procurement and the Distressed Sales Team through the S&OP process.
- Maintain Plant Calendars and potential weekend overtime for the production team.
- Education:
Bachelor’s degree preferred. - Experience:
Minimum of 3 years field experience in planning and operating supply chain assets within a high‑volume CPG environment. Proficient or well‑developed with advanced planning technology and decision‑support tools. Proven problem‑solving experience involving a variety of functional departments and management levels. - Computer
Skills:
Excellent PC skills including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, JDA, and SAP technology. - Communication
Skills:
Strong communication skills are essential. - Position Specific:
Familiarity with advanced planning technology and decision‑support tools and CPIM or APICS designation preferred.
