As a Line Lead, your responsibilities include increasing value, eliminating waste, and ensuring the production of quality products in a safe, cost-effective manner that meets schedules and standards. You will foster an environment where employees feel valued, challenged, and empowered, through evaluating performance and providing coaching.
Responsibilities- Maintain a clean and safe work environment, ensuring compliance with safety, health, and environmental standards. Participate in GEMBA walks to engage the workforce in safety practices.
- Use Job Safety Analysis (JSA) & Risk Assessment to prevent injuries, reviewing and updating safety procedures regularly. Promote a proactive safety culture.
- Conduct root cause analyses for incidents, complete investigation reports, and implement corrective actions. Collaborate with teams to improve safety and operational processes.
- Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and food handling standards, providing training to ensure compliance.
- Ensure adequate staffing at shift change, oversee production line operations, sanitation, preventive maintenance, and changeovers.
- Review production schedules, plan for changeovers, coordinate resources, and monitor progress to maintain efficiency.
- Complete production paperwork accurately and work closely with the production schedule to meet targets.
- Report employee issues to the Supervisor, provide feedback, and recommend disciplinary actions when necessary.
- Manage conflicts within the team, addressing non-technical issues and involving HR when needed.
- Assist in revising SOPs, suggest improvements, and communicate updates to staff.
- Evaluate performance standards, ensure adherence, and escalate issues as needed.
- Identify training needs, plan, and execute training programs.
- Understand machine operations, verify settings, and maintain product quality and consistency.
- Operate label machines accurately, verify product specifications, and prevent errors.
- Ensure cleanliness and sanitation, following protocols to prevent cross-contamination.
- Support operations, manage shift changes, and coordinate breaks to ensure smooth workflow.
- Communicate line disruptions or issues promptly, providing impact assessments and resolution suggestions.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
- Ability to interpret industry, production, and technical documents in English.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- Detail-oriented and able to work independently.
- Understanding of production procedures and equipment.
- Commitment to safety standards.
- Leadership and effective communication skills.
- Experience in fast-paced, quality-focused environments.
- Proficient in English communication.
- Basic math skills; willingness to work weekends and holidays.
- Familiarity with equipment operation.
- Problem-solving and data analysis skills.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- At least two years in manufacturing, preferably food industry.
- Leadership experience preferred.
- Knowledge of Lean principles and safety regulations is a plus.
- Familiarity with PLC-controlled equipment is preferred.
- Normal manufacturing environment conditions.
- Overtime may be required.
