Position: Material Handler Job Details - Mattr

Position Summary

The Material Handler is responsible for the movement and storage of material within the facility, including receiving, put‑away, material movement, loading trucks, kitting, electronic record keeping, and strict adherence to SOPs.

Duties
  • Perform daily maintenance and inspection of the forklift or equipment assigned to use.
  • Carry out the required SOPs for the proper receipt, storage and issuing of materials.
  • Perform cycle counting and inventory reconciliation daily to ensure inventory accuracy.
  • Operate different types of Powered Industrial Vehicles to move materials and products throughout the warehouse.
  • Follow standard pull list for production and kitting.
  • Perform loading and unloading of inbound and outbound shipments.
  • Organize products within the warehouse to maximize space and organization.
  • Utilize and update the company's ERP system as defined by SOPs.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Use effective communication skills amongst all team members.
  • Achieving monthly shipping targets for CSG.
  • Identify quality related problems and respond promptly to prevent or minimize missing performance targets.
  • Timely scheduling of carriers to customers, ensuring compliance to all policies and procedures for product transit and delivery.
  • Communicate with internal and external customers to ensure compliance with specific customer requests.
  • Prepare daily documentation: BOLs, customs and ocean freight, etc.
  • Actively participate and support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain good housekeeping practices in the work area using the 5S principles.
  • Operate all equipment in a safe and effective manner.
  • As required, provide training to new and/or junior employees with a focus on performing work in a safe, efficient, quality-minded manner.
  • Work within & according to all company safety and health guidelines.
  • Complete any other related duties required and/or assigned by supervisor or manager.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • At least three (3) years of practical experience in a warehouse environment executing shipping and receiving items efficiently and safely.
  • Proficient in using Microsoft Office and IFS application.
  • Formal HSE or SMS training will be considered an asset.
  • Ability to operate a forklift, reach truck or picker.
  • Possess strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to perform basic math functions.
  • Basic computer skills needed to work within company ERP system.
  • Possess basic problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to communicate verbally & electronically.
  • Quality-conscious, oriented to excellence.
  • Self-driven and safety-minded.
  • Knowledge of road and rail transportation rules and regulations to ensure safe, secure, efficient, and clean transportation of products (e.g., weight distribution and height restrictions).
  • Ability to lift parts weighing up to 50 lbs.
