Welder / Fabricator – 2nd Shift

Rotex is looking for a Welder/Fabricator to join our team in Cincinnati, Ohio. This is a second shift position (Monday–Thursday, 3:30 PM–2:00 AM, with mandatory overtime from 3:00 PM–3:30 AM, plus many Fridays). The role pays a competitive hourly rate with guaranteed annual increases and opportunities for overtime.

Perform welding of ferrous metal parts, including setup, fit‑up, tack welding, gas burning, cutting, finish welding, straightening, and inspection. Fabricate sub‑assemblies and assemblies such as box frames, cooler decks, bases, bottom pans, top covers, and items of 16‑gage and heavier according to drawings and specifications, using necessary equipment, tools, jigs and fixtures. Welding processes include SMAW, GMAW and FCAW.

• Use technical drawings to create joints between metal pieces and examine them to ensure strength (30%).
• Lay out, position, align, and secure parts and assemblies before welding, using straightedges, squares, calipers and rulers (30%).
• Weld components in flat, vertical, or overhead positions (30%).
• Inspect work pieces for defects and measure them to ensure conformance to specifications (5%).
• Perform routine equipment maintenance and decide when it is needed (5%).

• Welding certification from an accredited institution.
• Three or more years of relevant welding and fabrication experience.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints for weld fabrication.
• Successful completion of pre‑hire weld tests.

• Excellent communication skills: can convey information clearly, listen, and articulate when issues arise.
• Teamwork: supports team efforts, cooperates, builds morale, and shares successes.
