Senior Foundation Officer

Job Description

The Bethesda Foundation is seeking a qualified Prospect Development & Special Projects Officer. This position reports to the Vice President of Foundation Operations and provides leadership in prospect research, development, and cultivation strategies for the foundation. The role also offers limited program support to internal partner organizations as needed. Ideal candidates possess 4‑5 years of development experience with a passion for research and prospect identification.

• Lead independent planning, organization, and implementation of fundraising initiatives supporting the foundation’s mission.
• Manage grant development, prospect research, and major gifts programs.
• Coordinate donor cultivation, donor communications, and stewardship efforts.
• Maintain donor records, project files, and manage donor database updates.
• Plan and execute events, including scheduling, donor appreciation, and volunteer coordination.
• Occasional evening and weekend work related to events may be required.

• Bachelor’s Degree in a related field.
• 4‑5 years of experience in professional development within fundraising.
• 3‑4 years of experience in professional major gifts.
• Experience managing annual campaigns and special events.
• Experience in volunteer management and event planning.
