Position SummaryThe Senior Companion Program Coordinator is responsible for managing the daily operations of the Senior Companion Program (SCP). This position develops partner relationships with community agencies, recruits program sites and Senior Companion Volunteers, manages the service requirements of Senior Companions, and prepares the required program reports for the program.
Essential Job Functions- Takes responsibility for following program standards for on-boarding new volunteers and background checks and ensures volunteers comply with the Archdiocese of Cincinnati Child Protection Decree.
- Enforces policies and procedures of the Ameri Corps Program and Catholic Charities SWOH.
- Participates in development and implementation of volunteer in-service and educational programming including maintenance of sign-in sheets and agenda.
- Assists with organizing and participates in volunteer recognition programs.
- Performs Intake and Assessment of new clients for the Senior Companion Program and manages the SCP waitlist for services.
- Places volunteers with clients from the waitlist and ensures a good fit with the assigned client.
- Makes site visits to stations and client homes where Senior Companions are assigned, for the purpose of supervision, evaluation, support and/or problem solving.
- Works with Director to identify and implement alternative funding options for SCP.
- Processes all SCP timesheets including: calculating time sheets totals, entering in the appropriate database, tracking other information included in time sheets. Processes payroll for SCP volunteers in accordance to CCSWOH procedure. Maintains records of Paid Personal Time Off, stipends and travel for use in completion of monthly reports for assigned Ameri Corps Seniors Programs.
- Maintains program quality by assisting with planning annual program goals and objectives that ensure the SCP program operates efficiently and achieves its performance measures.
- Maintains SCP database profiles and hard copy files, ensuring files meet with program requirements.
- Reviews files for Continuous Quality Improvement and chart compliance for program requirements. Maintains accurate and appropriate records for all aspects of SCP program.
- Develops volunteer stations; reviews and updates MOUs and other appropriate documents with direction from the Program Director.
- Works with Director to ensure compliance with the terms and conditions of grants and funding that supports the Program and applicable federal regulations for Ameri Corps Programs including creating and revising policies and procedures.
- High School Diploma/GED required;
- Valid Driver’s license in the State of Ohio;
- Experience in the recruitment and management of volunteers;
- Ability to coordinate, plan, and implement volunteer programming;
- Demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Office;
- Maintain knowledge of the mission and objectives of Ameri Corps Headquarters and Ameri Corps Seniors; and,
- Demonstrate flexibility and organizational skills for independent daily management.
- 1. Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, Behavioral Science, Human Services or related field
- Minimum of 3 years of experience working with Seniors (55+)

Typical office environment, with minimal exposure to excessive noise or adverse environmental issues. This position requires the ability and willingness to drive a personal vehicle throughout the county for the purpose of recruitment efforts and client engagement. Mileage expenses will be reimbursed at a rate set by CCSWOH.
