Licensed Practical Nurse – Full Time – Behavioral Health
We are seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join the Ohio Department of Behavioral Health. This full‑time position is housed in the Summit Behavioral Healthcare facility located at 1101 Summit Road, Cincinnati, OH 45237. The role is covered by the OCSEA/AFSCME bargaining unit.
Responsibilities- Administer medication, educate, and empower individuals.
- Observe, evaluate, and record patient behavior and response to medication.
- Monitor patient health, including vital signs, treatment plan progress, and activity participation.
- Foster a safe and positive environment as a multi‑disciplinary team member through safety and observation rounds and group facilitation.
- Licensed Practical Nurse license issued by the Ohio Board of Nursing.
- MDS certification issued by the American Association of Nurse Assessment Coordination (ANNAC).
- Step 1 of the OCSEA Pay Range Schedule; opportunity for pay increase after six months of satisfactory performance and then a yearly raise thereafter.
- Hourly pay range $26.76 – $33.52.
- Union membership with OCSEA.
Normal working hours are 1st shift 6:30 am–3:00 pm and 2nd shift 2:30 pm–11:00 pm with rotating weekends and holidays.
