Job Summary

A Tier 3, System Flex Team traveler Registered Nurse (RN) is expected to be assigned to various sites throughout the Bon Secours Mercy Health System to provide patient care promoting and restoring patients’ health through the nursing process by analyzing, planning, implementing and evaluating patient care following established patient care standards for Bon Secours Mercy Health. The RN collaborates with physicians and multidisciplinary team members, provides physical and psychological support to patients and families, and supervises assigned team members as assigned.

The RN reports to the Clinical Manager for the assigned Department.

Essential Job Functions
  • Float to assigned sites within the Bon Secours Mercy Health System outside of home market.
  • Conduct individualized patient assessment including psychosocial data collection, prioritizing based on the patient’s immediate condition or needs.
  • Formulate and implement a plan of care, including interventions, evaluation of response, and documentation as appropriate.
  • Deliver care with appropriate age and cultural competence, reflecting collaboration with other members of the healthcare team, incorporating the professional practice model.
  • Demonstrate awareness of and support Bon Secours Mercy Health departmental and operating unit goals through participation in continuous quality improvement and departmental activities as a patient advocate.
  • Maintain current RN licensure and required certifications in good standing.

Licensing / Certification
  • Current RN License in good standing in state of practice (required)
  • BLS Basic Life Support – American Heart Association (required)
  • Any additional required credentials specific to the nurse specialty and as designated by Bon Secours Mercy Health (required)
Education
  • Associate of Nursing (required)
  • Bachelor of Science Nursing (preferred)
Work Experience
  • 6 months of recent experience in an acute care specialty (required)
  • 1 year of recent experience in an acute care specialty (preferred)
Training
  • EPIC Electronic Health Record (preferred)

  • Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served.
