Job Opportunity – Medical-Surgical Oncology Registered Nurse – Ohio

Start Date: November 16, 2026

Location: Columbus, Ohio

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: 12-hour shifts (Day/Night rotating or Night shift); scheduling reviewed every 4 weeks based on department needs

Highlights:

• 36-bed medical-surgical oncology unit serving adult and geriatric populations
• Patient ratio 1:4 with interdisciplinary support including Pharmacy, Respiratory, Physical Therapy, and Rapid Response Teams
• Focus on continuous cardiac monitoring, chemotherapy administration, symptom management, and infection prevention
• Epic EMR system; equipment includes GE telemetry monitors, Alaris pumps, and Bladder Scanner
• Common diagnoses include breast, lung, prostate, pancreatic, and colon cancers, plus sickle cell crises
• 72-hour orientation provided; previous travel experience preferred

Requirements:

• Active RN license (Compact or Ohio state license required at time of application)
• Minimum 2 years of current acute care RN experience (must be actively working in the specialty within the last 12 months)
• Current BCLS certification required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Oncology experience strongly preferred but not required
• Education from an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
• Skills required:
  
  dysrhythmia interpretation and management, accessing/managing ports, central line and PICC line care, arterial line management, blood product administration, IV starts, ABG interpretation, chest tube assistance, high-flow nasal cannula, BiPAP/CPAP, and tracheostomy care
• Willingness to float to units of equivalent or lower acuity
• 2 professional references required (at least 1 from a manager/director or formal supervisor)
• Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only)
