We are looking for a Cardiology Veterinary Assistant. Our Cardiology department collaborates with multiple specialties across the hospital. You will have the opportunity to continuously expand your knowledge and skillset of in advanced cardiology procedures. You can expect to liaise between our Cardiologists and clients, assist with client education and scheduling, as well as manage patient appointments.
What you’ll do:- Assist in patient procedures such as echocardiography, thoracentesis, pericardiocentesis, and multiple types of interventional cardiology procedures.
- Assist with appointments, obtain histories, medical record keeping, invoicing, patient discharges, etc., as well as organize and manage daily service flow.
- Obtain blood pressure and ECGs.
- Client education on the many different cardiology disease processes.
- Drive the Med Vet Experience and ensure our patients receive the highest quality care.
- Inspire, teach, multitask and be a highly functional team member.
- Ensure documentation is accurate and complete.
- Prior veterinary experience required, cardiology experience desired.
- Proficient in calculations (drugs, constant rate infusions, unit conversions, etc.).
- Flexibility with work hours and able to work additional hours when necessary.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast‑paced environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
