- Provide care for puppies’ nutritional, behavioral, environmental, and maintenance needs.
- Perform opening, daily, and closing procedures in the kennel.
- Complete procedural cleaning checklists to ensure maximum cleanliness.
- Monitor the health of all puppies and kittens daily and maintain proper records.
- Ensure proper pet nutrition, socialization, and cleaning are handled according to expectations.
- Assist the store veterinarian with puppy and kitten examinations and provide care and medications as prescribed.
- Train and coach less‑experienced Animal Care Technicians as selected key holders.

High school diploma or GED, or one to three months related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
Physical Demands and Work Environment- Standing – Continually required to stand
- Walking – Continually required to walk
- Sitting – Occasionally required to sit
- Travelling – Occasionally required to travel
- Finger Dexterity – Continually required to utilize hand and finger dexterity
- Clambering, bending, balancing, stooping, kneeling or crawling – Frequently required
- Talking/Hearing – Continually required to talk or hear
- Visual Acuity – Continually required to operate equipment, read technical information, and/or use a keyboard
- Lifting/Pushing/Carrying – Occasionally required to lift more than 50 lbs at a time with frequent lifting, pushing, or carrying of up to 30 lbs.
