Veterinary Assistant

Beechmont Pet Hospital is currently seeking an enthusiastic, outgoing individual to join our growing staff as a full-time veterinary assistant! Part-time availability may also be considered for the right candidate. Potential applicants should have a positive attitude, strong communication skills, and have the ability to multi-task. A customer service background and/or veterinary hospital experience is preferred but we are also willing to provide on the job training as well.

The duties of the veterinary assistant would include

• assisting with patient care and treatment
• monitoring hospitalized pets
• maintaining inventory and stocking
• restraining animals during blood draws and nail trims
• aiding with routine diagnostic tests
• maintaining & sterilizing surgical instruments
• clean/disinfect hospital
• administering medication under supervision
• feeding/bathing animals
• answering phones and general customer service duties
