QUALITY INSPECTOR
DEPARTMENT:

REPORTS TO:
Quality Manager
PURPOSE:
This position is responsible to ensure the quality of the customer products through competent and efficient inspection in support of manufacturing.
- Follow all Quality Department inspection procedures for first article, in-process and final inspections
- Support all manufacturing concerns in a timely manner
- Set‑up gages for floor inspection
- Follow tag system
- Fill out, stamp and sign Quality Inspections
- Log and file quality records
- E2 documentation – daily time reporting
- Carry out all other duties as assigned
- High school diploma or equivalent or 6 months experience in a similar position
- The ability to read and understand prints, routers and quality plans and to communicate the information contained
- Must be able to use, maintain and calibrate all common measuring instruments including caliper, micrometers, height gages and bore gages
- Capable of following and using the tag system, completing inspection reports and filing quality records
- An ability to learn additional measuring systems including CMM inspection/programming and to operate computers
While performing the duties of this job, the employee may frequently be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud when on the shop floor. This position also has a role in a professional office environment which routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
