Job OverviewA full-time Post Doctoral Fellow position is available in the epidemiology laboratory of Katherine Sabourin. The laboratory conducts field-based research and applies advanced statistical methods and a multidisciplinary approach to identify the factors leading to reactivation of Kaposi's sarcoma herpes virus, the etiological agent of Kaposi's sarcoma (KS), in an effort to reduce KS morbidity and mortality.
Essential Functions- Conduct research experiments in cancer and pediatric epidemiology, including analyzing longitudinal serological responses, assessing viral methylation, and characterizing oral microbiome compositions using advanced statistical methods.
- Sample inventory management and sample shipping.
- Gather and analyze data and develop new ideas.
- Prepare data summaries, reports, manuscripts and other presentations of research results.
- Participate/assist in manuscript writing for publication in scientific journals and/or presentation; may assist in grant writing.
- Keep informed of developments in the field to maintain and enhance professional expertise.
- Lab maintenance, including equipment maintenance and ordering of supplies, as needed.
- May teach techniques to others, train, and mentor junior research staff.
- Engage in appropriate training and professional development opportunities.
- Play an active role in seeking career and research advice, both from the faculty supervisor and from other faculty members as well.

- Doctoral Degree in Epidemiology or Related Field.
- Office environment/no specific unusual physical or environmental demands.
