Restaurant Host

Overview

If you’re enthusiastic and motivated with a friendly demeanor and have the ability to work well in a team environment, you’ll fit right into this host/hostess role! Excellent communication skills and a warm, courteous manner are needed for speaking with guests, answering phone inquiries, and making accurate reservations. One of your key duties will be to meet and greet guests warmly as they enter the restaurant and walk them to their seats.

• Check the dining room constantly for cleanliness and organization and restock condiments on the table as necessary
• Clean up and clear plates after guests leave, and get the table ready for the next customers
• Learn the menu, including the daily specials and accurately describe how dishes are prepared
• Guide diners to their seats and make sure everyone has the correct number of menus, utensils, napkins, and filled water glasses
• Acknowledge all customers warmly immediately upon arrival to ensure their first impression of the restaurant is positive

• Some restaurant, hospitality, and/or food services industry experience is preferred
• Adapt easily to working in a fast-paced team environment with long hours of standing on feet and moving around
• Responsible for communicating politely with customers, skilled at organizing, and have the ability to troubleshoot customer requests or issues quickly, and efficiently
• This role requires a high school diploma or equivalent GED and a good command of the English language

Compensation: $15 - $16 hourly
