Dietary Manager/Food Service Director
Food Preparation & Cooking:
- Prepare and cook meals according to menu plans, recipes, and dietary requirements.
- Ensure all meals are of high quality, visually appealing, and servedat appropriate temperatures.
- Adjust recipes to accommodate special dietary needs or requests(e.g., allergies, vegetarian, low-sodium).
Food Safety & Sanitation:
- Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines, including proper handling, storage, and disposal of food items.
- Maintain cleanliness in all areas of the kitchen, includingcountertops, equipment, and storage areas.
- Monitor and record temperatures of food and equipment to ensure compliance with health regulations.
- Assist with menu planning and food inventory management as needed.
- Check and replenish stock to avoid shortages; inform the Kitchen Manager of required supplies.
- Operate and maintain kitchen equipment such as ovens, fryers, andmixers safely.
- Work closely with kitchen staff to ensure meal preparation runssmoothly.
- Provide guidance and support to other kitchen personnel as required.
- Communicate effectively with other departments to meet service expectations.
- Assist with serving meals during peak times, as needed.
High school diploma or equivalent preferred but not required
Previous experience infood service is preferred, but not required
Must have strong communication and customer service skills
Must be able to follow directions and work as part of a team
Ability to lift to 50pounds and stand for extended periods
Must be able to work aflexible schedule, including weekends and holidays
Must be able to pass aback ground check and drug test
Working ConditionsThe Cook willwork in a skilled nursing facility kitchen, which may be hot and noisy. The jobrequires standing for extended periods of time and lifting up to 50 pounds.
The Cook will work with kitchen equipment and tools, including knives andfood processors, which require proper safety precautions. The job will require working weekends and holidays.
