Position: Parts Sales Representative -Inside

Description Parts Sales Representative
-Inside Summary

The primary function of the Parts Sales Representative is to assist customers in finding the appropriate parts for their truck both in person and on the telephone. Work with customers, mechanics, and peers to find accessories and order parts for repairs enhancements or overall needs to the vehicle. Assisting in stocking, and organizing showroom floor as necessary.

This is a full-time, 1st shift position. Tuesday-Friday hours 7:30am to 4:00pm and Saturday hours 7:00am to 3:00pm.

Job Responsibilities
  • Maintain customer goodwill by greeting and acknowledgement of all customers he/she comes in contact with, offer to assist.
  • Answer the telephone within 3 rings or less with the proper greeting and offer to assist the customer with the inquiry.
  • Suggest additional products and/or services to repair the problem and meet the customer’s needs.
  • When working the parts counter follow prescribed cash, credit, and check processing procedures of the dealership.
  • Processes cores warranties.
  • Follow up on shortages and expedite by reporting to Parts Manager.
  • Should be knowledgeable in the product merchandising.
  • Attends training as prescribed by management to maintain proficiency in his/her job description.
  • Provide service technicians with parts as required.
  • Maintains the retail sales floor and displays to meet or exceed the dealerships standards.
  • Performs other tasks as required by Parts Manger.

Requirements Qualifications and Other Requirements
  • SHRM Certification
  • 3 Years preferred of leadership of Human Resources team
  • In person position in the Indianapolis Market.
  • Some travel to other Company locations, meetings, and industry continuing education
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite and HRIS systems with a preference to Paylocity.
  • Working hours:

    The individual may be required to work varied shifts, including evenings, weekends, or extended hours based on the repair shop's operational needs. They may also need to be available for on-call or emergency situations.
Physical Requirements
  • The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
  • Physical requirements commonly associated with an individual working as a Heavy Duty Diesel Truck Repair Shop and not a technician.
  • Mobility:
    The individual should be capable of moving around the repair shop, including walking, standing, and potentially bending or kneeling to inspect vehicles or equipment.
  • Vision:
    Good eyesight and visual acuity are important for the individual to oversee repairs, inspect components, read technical manuals, and ensure quality control.
  • Hearing:
    The individual should have good hearing to communicate effectively with technicians, customers, and vendors, and to be aware of any audible warnings or signals in the repair shop.
  • Manual dexterity: A certain level of manual dexterity is required for the individual to handle paperwork, use computer systems, and potentially assist technicians with tasks such as parts ordering or equipment setup.
  • Lifting:
    While heavy lifting may not be the primary responsibility of the individual, the ability to occasionally lift and move objects such parts may be necessary.
