DJJ, a division of Nucor Corporation, is seeking applicants for our Sales/Trader positions. DJJ is a world leader in scrap metal recycling, trading, and transportation. We have relationships with scrap metal businesses around the world. Founded in 1885, we pride ourselves on our dedication to safety, and the principles of integrity and respect. As a Trader, you'll sit at the center of Nucor's raw material supply chain — buying scrap and alloys from suppliers worldwide, then brokering those raw materials to customers. You'll build a real book of business, trade commodities, and develop lasting supplier and customer relationships. After an 8–10 week paid training program, you'll be placed in one of our district offices and a brokerage based on our business needs and your strengths.

You MUST be willing to relocate anywhere we do business post training - strictly based on business need, no preferences. (See states/locations above)

This posting recruits across all four of DJJ's brokerages.

Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the US (The David J. Joseph Company (DJJ) will not sponsor the need for a visa now or in the future).

• Buy and sell ferrous, nonferrous metals and or ferroalloys to drive Nucor's raw material advantage (Depending on assigned brokerage)
• Prospect and develop new supplier and mill relationships
• Manage contracts, payment terms, and supply chain logistics with customers
• Collaborate daily with logistics teams, Nucor mill contacts, and open-market accounts
• Travel to supplier and customer sites (30–60% of time)
• Relocate to any district office at the close of training — and again as you advance

Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

• Bachelor's degree in Business and or related field/discipline
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• 100% open to relocation — initially and as your career advances
• Ability to travel 30–60%
• Self-starter who thrives working both independently and on a team

• Prior sales, trading, or customer service experience
• Negotiation skills and commercial instincts
• Curiosity about financial and commodity markets

DJJ offers one of the best total compensation packages in the industry:

• Base salary of $77,000.00 + ROA bonus up to 33.9% of annual pay
