Job OverviewAllen & Frey Builders & Remodelers Inc is seeking a skilled and motivated Lead Carpenter to take charge of residential construction and remodeling projects from start to finish. This is a hands‑on leadership role that blends expert craftsmanship with team supervision, project coordination, and client communication. Responsibilities- Lead and oversee all carpentry activities on residential construction, remodeling, and renovation projects.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for carpentry‑related matters during each project.
- Supervise, mentor, and train carpenters, apprentices, and laborers.
- Interpret architectural plans, blueprints, and specifications to plan and execute work.
- Perform hands‑on carpentry, including framing, trim, cabinetry, decking, and door/window installation.
- Inspect materials and workmanship to ensure quality at every stage.
- Collaborate with project managers, subcontractors, and other trades to maintain schedules and resolve conflicts.
- Communicate with clients regarding project progress, materials, and design options.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe job site.
- Ensure compliance with building codes, safety standards, and company policies.
- 3 years of carpentry experience in residential construction.
- Prior leadership or supervisory experience is a plus.
- Technical training or apprenticeship is a plus.
- Proficiency in all phases of carpentry and finish work.
- Strong knowledge of residential building codes and practices.
- Skilled in reading blueprints and technical drawings.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Proficiency with hand and power tools, plus basic digital skills for scheduling and communication.
- Lift and carry up to 50 lbs as needed.
- Work at heights, on ladders, and in varied weather conditions.
- Perform physical tasks for extended periods while maintaining attention to detail.
