Job Title: Field Installation Technician
Department: Cortex Installation
Reports To: Installation Service Manager
Exemption Classification: Hourly, Non-exempt
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Execute the installation of Cintas garment handling machines throughout the United States. Responsibilities to include unloading, spotting, mechanical reassembly, network connection and communication verification and final programming of PLC.
- Coordinate installation with the Program Manager, End Customer and Cintas team.
- Provide onsite demonstration to machine users, Cintas MAMs and SSRs, and end user maintenance personnel.
- Assist in training and mentoring new team members both in the field and in our manufacturing facility.
- Perform onsite mechanical and/or electrical troubleshooting.
- Perform basic controls troubleshooting and program updates.
- Perform comprehensive post install inspection of the equipment and complete a formal Cintas Engineering signoff document.
- Prepare weekly service reports for all work done in the field and submit to Cintas Engineering.
- Prepare and submit expense reports weekly for expenses accumulated while in the field.
- Make travel arrangements weekly and manage an efficient travel schedule.
Supervisory Responsibilities: None.
Travel Requirements: Four (4) weeks per month with departure on Monday and return on Friday.
Qualifications/
Skills:
Basic understanding of computer operating systems, networking, connectivity, and troubleshooting.
Education and/or
Experience:
High School Diploma required. Preference is to have diploma or degree in a technical field.
Language
Skills:
Communicate verbally and in writing in English.
Mathematical
Skills:
Add, subtract, multiply and divide.
Reasoning Ability: Identify work process problems and possible solutions.
Certificates/Licenses/Registrations: None.
Physical Demands: Stand for prolonged periods of time on concrete floor. Will be required to kneel, squat, stoop, recline, climb, crawl and/or bend as needed. Must be able to adjust visual focus. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. unassisted, over 50 lbs with assistance of a lifting device.
Work Environment: Typical hospital or higher education laboratory environment.
