Job Summary

We are seeking motivated Service Technicians of various skill levels with a problem‑solving mentality. Service Technicians diagnose issues and perform standard general repairs on drive‑train components, mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems on company and/or customers’ heavy equipment across shop and field settings while adhering to all safety regulations and contributing to a positive work environment conducive to our Company Values.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Participate in required safety program and work in a safe manner.
  • Inspect, diagnose, troubleshoot, and locate mechanical deficiencies on heavy equipment; determine a repair solution and source and order parts as needed.
  • Perform repair of mobile equipment in a field environment without supervision.
  • Perform welding, brazing, fabricate and modify parts, equipment, and miscellaneous structures as needed.
  • Repair and/or replace components of engine hydraulic systems, air conditioning systems, suspension systems, drive trains, electrical systems, steering, braking, material handling, and operator comfort systems.
  • Demonstrate a sense of urgency to maintain customer satisfaction.
  • Work overtime, weekends and holidays as required.
  • Perform all work in accordance with established quality standards and safety procedures.
  • Comply with all applicable DOT requirements.
  • Travel and work remotely as required, including overnight stays.
  • Make decisive decisions and support organization’s goals and priorities.
Qualifications
  • General knowledge of complex hydraulic, electrical, and drive‑train systems.
  • Strong problem‑solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to diagnose and repair hydraulic, electrical, drive‑train, and air conditioning systems.
  • General welding and fabrication skills.
  • Thorough understanding of equipment operation.
  • Knowledge of electrical and hydraulic test equipment.
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret technical information from hydraulic and electrical schematics.
Education and Experience

Minimum requirement of High School diploma or GED. Technical school graduate preferred. Experience with Volvo construction equipment or paving equipment is a plus. Must possess a safe driving record and be able to obtain DOT Medical Certification.

Communication Skills

Written communication skills required to document complaints, causes, and corrections of completed repairs. Ability to read and follow written instructions and effectively communicate with supervisors and customers.

Physical Demands

Must be able to sit, stand, walk, read, talk, write, and hear. Must lift or move‑carry up to 10 lb continuously, up to 20 lb frequently, and 21–75 lb occasionally. Must push or pull up to 50 lb continuously, up to 75 lb frequently, and 76–100 lb occasionally. Work in shop or field environment, including extreme variable outdoor weather conditions, hot and cold temperatures. Must obtain DOT Medical Certification.

Position

Type and Hours

This position is classified as full‑time, non‑exempt. Normal days of work are Monday through Friday with variable hours. Overtime may be required on occasion.
