If you can fix it, figure it out, or find a way to make it work, we want to meet you.
Are you the person everyone calls when something needs to be repaired, assembled, adjusted, moved, or simply made to work better?
At Lighthouse Youth & Family Services, we’re looking for a Facilities Specialist who enjoys working with their hands, solving problems, and keeping buildings running safely and smoothly.
This isn’t a sit-behind-a-desk job. You'll work across our locations tackling everything from everyday repairs and preventive maintenance to renovations, relocations, building systems, and special projects.
What You'll DoYour days will have plenty of variety. You'll:
- Troubleshoot and complete maintenance and repair projects.
- Handle hands-on work such as painting, wall patching, hardware installation, furniture and shelving assembly, minor plumbing repairs, and general facility upkeep.
- Help inspect, maintain, and troubleshoot electrical, plumbing, mechanical, HVAC, boiler, heating, cooling, and ventilation systems, escalating work that requires specialized or licensed expertise.
- Keep tools, equipment, materials, and supplies organized and ready to go.
- Support renovations, relocations, space modifications, and new facility projects.
- Work with contractors and help monitor the quality and progress of facility projects.
- Respond when urgent maintenance needs pop up.
- Keep leadership informed about facility conditions, repairs, safety concerns, and vendor work.
- Are naturally hands-on and enjoy fixing things.
- Can look at a problem and start figuring out what needs to happen next.
- Take pride in doing work safely and correctly.
- Can balance several priorities without losing track of the details.
- Communicate well with employees, contractors, and leadership.
- Are dependable, adaptable, organized, and ready to pitch in wherever needed.
- Enjoy being part of a team but are also comfortable getting work done independently.
What You'll Need
- High school diploma or GED
- At least 2 years of training or experience in maintenance or a related field
- A current and valid driver's license
Vocational-school education and professional certifications are preferred.
A Few Things to KnowThis is an essential, on-site position with no remote-work option. The role requires travel between satellite locations of up to 50%, and occasional evening or weekend work may be needed. The work is highly active and includes standing, walking, bending, kneeling, climbing, crouching, and frequently lifting or moving items over 75 pounds.
Bring Your Skills. Make an Impact.A working light, comfortable building, completed repair, or smoothly executed move might seem like a small thing. But when people depend on those spaces every day, the details matter.
If you take pride in being the person who helps keep everything working, safe, and ready for what's next, we'd love to hear from you.
