Description

Med Mart is a full-service medical equipment and home modification provider dedicated to improving the quality of life for our customers. Our Home Access team helps individuals maintain their independence by creating safer, more accessible living environments.

We're looking for a dependable, hardworking Home Modification Installer Helper to join our growing team. This is a full-time, year-round position with consistent work and opportunities to develop new skills and advance within the company.

Position Overview

The Home Modification Installer Helper works alongside experienced installers to complete residential accessibility and remodeling projects. This hands‑on position involves assisting with construction, installation, and home modifications that make everyday living safer and more accessible for our customers.

Prior construction or remodeling experience is preferred, but we're willing to train someone with a strong work ethic, mechanical aptitude, and a willingness to learn. Our goal is to help team members develop the skills and experience needed to advance into Lead Installer positions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist Lead Installers with residential accessibility modifications, installations, and remodeling projects.
  • Perform general construction tasks, including carpentry, demolition, flooring, and basic plumbing and electrical work, under appropriate supervision.
  • Load, unload, transport, and organize tools, equipment, and construction materials.
  • Follow instructions from the Construction Manager and Lead Installer to complete assigned projects safely and efficiently.
  • Learn proper installation techniques, construction methods, and equipment operation through hands‑on training.
  • Maintain clean, organized, and safe job sites, company vehicles, and work areas.
  • Treat customers and their homes with professionalism, courtesy, and respect.
  • Arrive on time, prepared to work, and participate in daily team meetings.
  • Work collaboratively with team members to complete projects while maintaining quality workmanship.
Schedule & Career Opportunities

This is a regular, full-time position averaging 40 hours per week. The typical schedule is Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM. Occasional additional or adjusted hours may be necessary based on project needs, but overtime is not guaranteed.

Unlike many seasonal construction positions, Med Mart provides year-round work without planned seasonal layoffs or downtime.

We believe in developing our team from within. Helpers have opportunities to expand their construction and installation skills through hands‑on experience and training, with the potential to advance into Lead Installer roles as their capabilities grow.

Requirements Qualifications
  • Previous experience in construction, residential remodeling, carpentry, or a related trade preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of hand tools, power tools, and general construction practices preferred.
  • Familiarity with plumbing, electrical work, flooring, or demolition is a plus.
  • Willingness to learn new skills, follow instructions, and take direction from experienced installers.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
  • Dependable, punctual, and able to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Good communication and customer service skills.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to meet company driving standards.
  • Ability to pass a pre‑employment background check and drug screening.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift and carry materials weighing up to 100 pounds, with assistance when necessary for safe handling.
  • Ability to perform physically demanding work, including standing, walking, bending, kneeling, climbing, and working in residential construction environments.
  • Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, and other construction equipment with appropriate training.
