Overview
Social Program Specialist (Kinship Program Specialist) (4563-12) role with Hamilton County, Ohio. Final date to receive applications:

Work hours:
Full-Time 80 hours biweekly; potential for hybrid remote work. Hourly salary: $23.04.
- Acts as primary contact for Hamilton County Kinship Stipend; processes eligibility and paperwork; collects and maintains Kinship Caregiver Vendor forms; authorizes payments through SACWIS or other systems; resolves issues with Fiscal department.
- Serves as primary contact for Kinship Support; coordinates background checks; coordinates with Child Care division for public funded childcare and kinship childcare assistance; maintains referrals and determinations documentation.
- Researches, analyzes, and evaluates kinship navigation supports; coordinates partnerships with contracted providers; supports permanency through kinship program operations.
- Performs specialized administrative functions; maintains knowledge of kinship programs; creates kinship provider numbers in SACWIS; fingerprints clients for Children’s Services.
- Education/
Experience:
Undergraduate degree in a social or behavioral science plus 12 months DHS experience; or undergraduate degree in a non-related field plus 18 months DHS experience; or an associate degree plus 24 months DHS experience; or 36 months DHS experience; or equivalent. - Agency-preferred qualifications: experience with interdisciplinary teams, strong written/verbal communication, organization and time management; experience with team facilitation, conflict resolution, negotiation; adaptability; ability to work with diverse populations; basic knowledge of Microsoft Office; ability to learn; works independently with keen assessment skills.
- Knowledge of social/behavioral sciences, statutes/regulations, community resources, policy and program planning, public relations, interviewing, communication.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, prepare reports, communicate with participants, and present to audiences.
- Background check via Ohio BCI; must have a car, valid driver’s license, and auto liability insurance.
- Working at a computer for eight hours or more per day; remaining stationary for extended periods.

- Required checks per OAC 5101:2-5-09 and related systems (SACWIS, state registry checks, BCI, FBI, NSOPW).
