Salary Range: $16.00 To $18.00 Hourly

Best Point Education & Behavioral Health is looking for a dependable, caring, and energetic Childcare Driver & Kitchen Assistant to support our Early Childhood Education program.

This unique position combines child transportation, kitchen and food service responsibilities, and classroom support—making it a great opportunity for someone who enjoys variety, teamwork, and making a meaningful difference in children's lives.

Job Responsibilities

Transportation & Child Safety

• Safely transport children to and from local schools, field trips, and program activities using agency vehicles.
• Follow established transportation schedules and all required safety procedures.
• Supervise children during transportation, ensuring safe boarding and exiting.
• Complete vehicle inspections, safety checks, and incident reports as needed.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized vehicle environment.
• Prepare and serve nutritious meals and snacks according to approved menus.
• Follow proper food handling, storage, sanitation, and safety procedures.
• Assist with food inventory, ordering, and stock rotation.
• Safely operate kitchen equipment, including dishwashers, steamers, and convection ovens.
• Maintain compliance with applicable health department requirements and food safety regulations.

Classroom Support

• Assist classroom teachers as needed to help maintain required child-to-staff ratios.
• Engage children through play, learning activities, and daily routines.
• Support children's social, emotional, intellectual, and physical development.
• Help maintain a safe, welcoming, and developmentally appropriate learning environment.
• Follow applicable licensing, accreditation, and quality standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Valid driver's license and a safe driving record.
• Experience working with children in a childcare, school, or youth program setting.
• Serv Safe Manager Certification or the ability to obtain certification within 90 days of hire.
• Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office and Windows.
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks throughout the workday.
