Relationship Coach
with
Found Village in Cincinnati, OH
Do you believe one trusted adult can change a young person’s direction? Are you someone who builds trust by consistently showing up, following through, and continuing to believe in a young person when progress is slow? If so, we want to speak with you.

Found Village is seeking a Relationship Coach to build meaningful, long-term relationships with young people ages 13-18. In this role, you’ll help teens strengthen their sense of belonging, recognize their abilities, develop practical skills, and build a network of trusted adults who will remain in their lives.

Responsibilities:

  • Build consistent, trusting relationships with young people while creating a safe, supportive environment and maintaining healthy professional boundaries.
  • Help teens identify their strengths, interests, values, and goals through thoughtful questions, encouragement, and appropriate accountability.
  • Support youth ages 13-15 in developing communication, emotional‑management, problem‑solving, confidence, identity, and a sense of belonging.
  • Help younger teens build healthy, lasting relationships with peers, caregivers, mentors, and other supportive adults.
  • Prepare youth ages 16-18 for adulthood by helping them take ownership of their goals, decisions, and future plans.
  • Coach older teens through planning, employment, first‑job experiences, job training, post‑secondary opportunities, and other important transitions.
  • Help teens build practical life skills, greater independence, and the ability to make informed decisions.
  • Collaborate with caregivers, families, schools, employers, mentors, service providers, and community partners to coordinate support and address barriers early.
  • Advocate for young people while keeping their voices, preferences, and goals at the center and helping them develop lasting relationships outside Found Village.
  • Communicate proactively, maintain accurate documentation, follow through consistently, and coordinate thoughtful transitions to the next stage of support.

Requirements:

  • Experience coaching, mentoring, or working directly with youth in a professional, educational, community‑based, or similar setting.
  • Demonstrated ability to build trust over time, including with young people who may be hesitant to engage.
  • Strong communication, relationship‑building, and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with families, schools, employers, providers, and community partners.
  • Ability to maintain appropriate professional boundaries and confidentiality.
  • Strong organization, documentation, and follow‑through.

Who thrives in this role:

You bring a coaching mindset and help young people develop their own solutions. You are patient and resilient when progress is gradual, combine compassion with accountability, and are comfortable having direct and respectful conversations. You approach behavior with curiosity rather than judgment and bring emotional maturity, humility, adaptability, self‑awareness, initiative, and a willingness to seek feedback and adapt your approach. Most importantly, you are committed to empowering young people rather than creating dependence.

What success looks like:

In your first 90 days, you'll build trust and emotional safety, learn each young person's story, strengths and support network, and begin forming relationships with caregivers, schools and partners.

By six months, young people are actively engaged and working toward goals they helped set. You're coordinating across their support network and adapting your coaching to each young person's developmental stage.

By one year, young people consistently choose to engage and name you as one of their trusted adults. Younger teens show a stronger sense of belonging and…
