Job Description & How to Apply Below
Position: Staff Software Engineer

Join a team that’s been leading an emerging AI category for a decade—long before the rest of the market caught on. Cloverleaf is pushing the limits of how AI can elevate human potential at work, and our customers around the world rely on us because we deliver. We’re searching for a Staff Engineer with the ambition and grit to help shape AI for good, and who thrives in a fast-moving, high-trust environment with room to run.

If you want to do the most meaningful work of your career, we want to talk.

Who You Are

You’ll love being a Staff Software Engineer at Cloverleaf if:

  • You are a “Builder” that cares about impact – blurred engineering/product roles utilizing specialized knowledge where most helpful, but not as a blocker. And, you want what you code to truly impact people’s work lives
  • Value low-process – high agency, high empowerment. Ideal for those who have skillsets in design and resolving ambiguity (prototyping, hacking, structured exploration and idea development) – note that this is not everyone!
  • You are a truth seeker – genuine communication is highly valued and necessary
  • You are entrepreneurial and creative and want opportunities to innovate and try new things
  • You get really excited to work with others, both within the product team and with the customer team (or even customers) to develop amazing products - quickly
  • You build across the full stack where needed and are excellent at certain parts

You also have a minimum of 5 years of relevant professional software engineering experience - ideally in a cloud-based, multi-tenant SaaS product company
-with technical skills in:

  • Node.js (this is what we predominantly use)
  • Graph

    QL, MySQL, Next.js, React, AWS
  • Utilizing frontier LLMs and AI building patterns in product
  • Distributed system patterns and architecture.
  • Relevant providers and integrations: MS Teams, Microsoft APIs, Workday, Slack, Google APIs, OpenAI, Anthropic, Promptlayer, Datadog, Github, Segment, Chargebee, Merge

We use AI to increase our effectiveness as builders - currently engineers are utilizing a mix of Cursor and Claude Code and on a spectrum between meaningful IDE-based AI-assisted coding to AI-first spec-driven agentic coding workflows. We are open and curious about using AI to increase our effectiveness as builders, and increasingly convinced there are meaningful gains to be had.

The Role

  • Is a product thinker that cares about user experience and enjoys collaborating with others to design and deliver impact to users
What You'll Do:

Product Development (70%):

  • Influence product and technical roadmaps and project details alongside other members of the product team.
  • Define and deliver thin, iterative slices of functionality to production, role-modeling and helping to lead the team around direction and delivery of the same.
  • Partner with others on the team, including mentorship, conducting merge reviews, un-blocking teammates, and helping to up-level the team.
  • Write clean, efficient, well-tested code that reflects industry best-practices and internal engineering principles within the context of the existing codebase.
