Hours vary, location GE Evendale! This position is responsible for providing safe effective, motivating aquatic group fitness classes for participants of all levels. This position is also responsible for the following duties: provide leadership while educating, monitoring and encouraging class participants; communicate with supervisory staff on a regular, on-going basis; attend continuing education workshops and seminars to stay current with the health/fitness industry.
This job classification will be used effective 6/1/17 for individuals who have a separate specialty work assignments in aquatic and land fitness categories.
- Demonstrates the correct components of a class and used exercises and movement patterns which are safe and effective. Uses variety of choreographed moves suitable for the type of class they are teaching.
- Uses teaching strategies to modify incorrect movements by providing appropriate feedback to participants. Cueing uses correct effective, visual and or verbal commands and teaches modifications to meet the variety of fitness levels in the class.
- Consistently demonstrates enthusiasm and motivation toward the class and the work, and uses equipment and music appropriately for designated class.
- Teaches modifications to meet the variety of fitness levels in the class
- Meets and completes all annual requirements on time for position including CPR, AME, flu shot and attending 2 of 4 all-instructor meetings. Uses proper protocol when finding substitutions for classes and communicates effectively with group fitness staff.
- Timeliness, Enthusiasm, Motivation, Music and Equipment use: for equipment and music
-uses appropriate equipment for designated class. Provides enthusiasm, motivation to participants and respects when the class begins and ends.
- High School Degree or GED
- Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (BLS)
- Must obtain specialty discipline in NCAA Accredited program: AEA, ACE, AFPA, within 3-months of hire. BLS/AED and AED
- 1-2 years preferred experience
