Coaching - HS Boys Junior Varsity Head Volleyball Coach Job Responsibilities

• Oversee all aspects of the Boys Junior Varsity (JV) Volleyball Team including player development, game strategies, and team leadership.
• Oversee all aspects of the JV Volleyball Program tryouts, practices, and games.
• Maintain knowledge of game management, rules, and strategies.
• Develop and execute an effective training program.
• Motivate and mentor student‑athletes on and off the court.
• Instruct student‑athletes in fundamental skills, strategies, and physical training necessary for individual and team success.
• Guide student‑athletes toward the development of moral values, pride of accomplishment, acceptable social behavior, self‑discipline, and self‑confidence.
• Foster teamwork, discipline, respect, sportsmanship, and skill development.
• Ensure safety and well‑being of student‑athletes.
• Cooperate timely with the School Athletic Director and the District Athletic Department on pertinent information requests.
• Meet all requirements mandated by the District Board of Education, the Ohio High School Athletic Association (OHSAA), and the Ohio Department of Education (ODE) related to the Coaches Tool Chest (CTC) training/certification and the ODE Pupil Activity Permit (PAP).
• Verify academic eligibility for all prospective student‑athletes.
• Follow District Athletic Department policies and the Coaches Handbook criteria.
• Model expected behavior: timeliness, positivity, respect, constructive criticism, and discipline.
• Maintain appropriate sideline conduct and language.
• Accept and profit from constructive criticism to improve coaching performance.
• Implement all applicable administrative policies from the District Board of Education, Superintendents, Principals, Conference Leagues, ODE, and OHSAA.
• Provide applicable in‑season and out‑of‑season training rules to student‑athletes before the season and follow due‑process procedures for violations.
• Participate in clinics and other performance‑improvement programs.
• Participate in school events such as awards night, pep assemblies, and booster meetings.
• Assist in ensuring the team is well prepared for opponents.
• Maintain an accurate inventory of equipment and supplies.

• Fundraising experience.
• Strong knowledge of volleyball rules, techniques, and strategies.
• Passionate and dedicated to inspire student‑athletes.
• Previous coaching experience in volleyball preferred.
• Ability to motivate and inspire student‑athletes.
• Serve as a positive role model.
• Demonstrated sport‑specific knowledge and skills.

• Ohio Secondary Teaching Certificate preferred.
• Evidence of successful past coaching experience at the high school and/or college level preferred.
• Provide satisfactory results of County Police Records Check, State Background Check, and FBI fingerprint background check.
• Possess an Ohio Department of Education (ODE) Pupil Activity Permit (PAP).
• Proof of completion of Coaches Tool Chest (CTC) Training/Certification.

Type of contract:
Supplemental Annual Limited.

Salary:
Per Schedule E Contract of current C.F.T. Labor Agreement.
