ScopeMonitor and maintain the accuracy of equipment parts inventory to support plant operational and maintenance activities. Assist maintenance with parts identification, forecasting goals, and meeting department objectives within standard or accepted practice while continuously supporting Sofidel’s Employee Personal Practice Policy.
Essential Functions- Support Sofidel America’s Good Manufacturing Practices and HACCP to promote a safe, sanitary, and hygienically sound workplace.
- Recruit, develop, and motivate staff while coordinating the activities of the Spare Parts Warehouse.
- Adjust inventory records when parts are received or withdrawn. Generate and issue reports on parts inventory utilization, and investigate loss, theft, or misplacement.
- Ensure an adequate supply of parts is available and maintain accurate and complete records of every part on all equipment, using both physical and computerized systems. Assist in the updating and maintenance of work order processing software.
- Manage purchase and procurement processes for spare parts, keeping stock within planned levels and ensuring accurate inventory sheets.
- Identify and research machine parts to be purchased. Assist production and maintenance with identification and sourcing of parts, supplies, and services.
- Coordinate purchases with outside vendors, establishing price and terms. Verify charges for items received and resolve credit, warranty, or other issues.
- Collaborate with other manufacturing plants and assist with the acquisition or identification of parts required. Prepare parts for shipment to other company locations or outside vendors.
- Uphold budgetary requirements, investigate and report on variances, and collaborate with Accounting to resolve invoicing problems.
- Interface with operational managers to evaluate product/service features and define supply specifications.
- Maintain supplier relationships, negotiate prices and purchasing conditions in compliance with Group policies, and ensure the procurement of goods and services as required.
- Ensure bi‑weekly payroll for personnel is accurate and submitted in a timely manner.
- Assist with operations to maintain workflow, meet schedules, and quality requirements. Notify supervision of unusual equipment or operating problems or the need for additional materials or supplies.
- Maintain a safe work area and comply with safety procedures, equipment operating rules, and keep the workspace clean and orderly.
- Participate in meetings and work groups to integrate activities, communicate issues, obtain approvals, resolve problems, and stay informed about new developments, policies, and regulatory guidelines.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Employee will use a computer and peripherals, standard and customized software applications, and typical office equipment.
Education / ExperienceHigh School Graduate or GED. Basic computer skills and one to three months of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Prior experience with inventory management (SPWS) is required, with a preference for SPWA. SAP experience is a plus.
Language AbilityAbility to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and quality and procedural manuals.
Math AbilityAbility to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Certificates, Licenses, and ExperienceLift experience is a plus.
