Membership Experience Specialist L2

Thinks, communicates and behaves as a cause-driven leader and role model for other staff and members, demonstrating desired staff behaviors and healthy living practices. Scans membership cards of all entering the building; greets members by name when they enter and exit; grants access based on computer system scan results. Conveys information about membership related to payments or renewals to members upon entry.
Maintains accurate records of transactions and shift activity, completing cash, check and credit sales accurately using the computer system, providing change and receipts, and balancing the cash drawer. Handles enrollment opportunities for walk-ins and website-generated membership requests, ensuring new members receive all relevant program and membership information and are connected to services that increase engagement, including introductions to key staff, members, and enrollment in member orientation programs.
Helps members connect with one another to form friendships, provides information about the Y (including membership, programs, facility, services, and financial assistance) to callers and members, keeps the Welcome Desk clean, orderly, welcoming, and adequately stocked, follows YMCA policies and procedures, responds to emergency situations, and collaborates with the Executive Director to support MOD coverage at the branch.
- High school diploma and at least two years of related experience and/or training
- Passionate belief in the Y’s cause of nurturing the potential of all youth, supporting healthy living for all people, and finding ways to help and support neighbors
- Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community
- Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet and database programs
- Proven track record of developing authentic relationships with others
- Must complete all required Welcome Desk and Daxko trainings within the first 30 days
- Must obtain CPR, First Aid, AED, and O2 certifications within 90 days and keep them current throughout employment
- All staff must complete the Y’s safety training through their Kronos checklist and all applicable paperwork prior to their first day of work
