well-established civil engineering and groundworks contractor, operating across the South West and Midlands, is seeking an experienced Site Manager / Site Supervisor to support the delivery of ongoing residential housing infrastructure works in the Stroud area.
The business has a strong reputation for delivering high-quality groundworks, highways, drainage and infrastructure packages for major house builders and developers, with a clear focus on safety, quality and programme delivery.
The Role
You will take responsibility for the day-to-day supervision and management of residential groundworks packages, ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently and in line with programme requirements. The role will suit a hands-on Site Supervisor or Site Manager with strong civils and housing infrastructure experience.
Key Responsibilities
Supervise and coordinate all site activities related to residential groundworks
Manage subcontractors, plant and labour on site
Ensure works are delivered in line with drawings, specifications and programme
Maintain high standards of health & safety, quality and housekeeping
Conduct daily briefings, toolbox talks and site inductions
Monitor progress and report updates to senior management
Coordinate deliveries, plant movements and site logistics
Ensure compliance with RAMS, method statements and company procedures
Liaise with clients, engineers and external stakeholders as required
Project Scope
Residential groundworks and infrastructure
Drainage, foundations, roads and services
Ongoing housing development works
Essential Requirements
SSSTS (or higher)
CSCS Card
First Aid at Work
Proven experience supervising residential civils / groundworks projects
Strong understanding of site safety and coordination of trades
Ability to commute daily to Stroud or Fairford
Desirable
Background working for a groundworks or civil engineering contractor
Experience on volume housing or developer-led residential schemes
